Hanak Superb XP

Hanak Superb XP 9'3" #0 is the newest and lightest euro-nymph rod model for those looking for the ultimate ultralight setup for tight line, euro style nymphing, long rod dry fly fishing, or long leader dry-dropper setups. 

Appointed in a minimalist clean style with clear silk main wraps and gold ferrule wraps to complement the teak wood insert on this ultralight reel seat. Stealthy matte olive finish.

The rod has so much tip feel that is sweet when casting dries, with enough backbone for bigger fish should you strike one on the nymph. But a delight to fish on those finicky trout and grayling in smaller sizes. 

This is the ultimate rod for fishing small flies, not only small fish, fish catching machine. I'm sold!

Tom Morgan

This rod is a Morgan replica build, "the Tom Morgan way". 

This build was commissioned by a dear friend last fall and was lucky I could still find a blank and have it ready for the start of the season.

A gorgeously handcrafted, TMR engraved burgundy leather case was a must.

We decided to fit the rod with a Tiemco Oracle reel and a SA ART line. Can't praise enough how smooth these translucent burgundy beauties cast. 

I love the end result, I'm sure Tom would have been happy to see it. This is "the thought rod".

Troutbum series

Here's another one of my custom, semiparabolic fly rod series. 

This classic fly rod has the action of days forgotten, that is nearly impossible to find in the contemporary graphite fly rods. Most rods on the market these days have a progressive, tip or mid-tip flex action.

A semiparabolic rod behaves like a progressive medium action rod when casted lightly, then when adding a bit more power the butt section comes into play. 

Basically the rod's easy to load in full every time and does the job nicely with a deliberate casting stroke. I would compare this design to the older Sage Circa series wich I really liked.

The feeling in casting when accessing the lower end of the rod is sweet, great when striking fish or when drying up a fly with little line out past the rod tip.

Classic style build all the way with my usual appointments.
