Swift Epic 370

The smallest in the series. This seven foot three weight is such a smooth, easy casting rod that I think many new comers into the "glass world" will apreciate. 

Swift did a terrific job with the new composite called Zentron, wich offers a unique combination of properties, more strength and impact resistance and less weight than conventional S2-glass.

The new material feels a little bit crisper (higher modulus fiber) but smoother (refined tapers) than the old one, maybe in between glass and graphite for casting feel, but that could be a subjective statement.

There is a saying that materials come and go. Well, these blanks have beautiful progressive tapers, load incredibly easy and make precise casting at all ranges.

Overall, these new rods are slimmer and lighter, the Katana glass tubes add to that as well making for a very light package.

Swift Epic spey

Here is a Swift Epic double handed carbon rod. This is an incredibly light, yet powerful and stable spey rod designed by Swift in collaboration with April Vokey. 

Appointed in a clean style, partially Dave Lewis with the sunburn yellow tippings and slate grey main wraps over classic hard chrome snake guides.

The overall package is very light, the outstanding Katana rod tube adds to that as well. This is a rod that even a smaller fisherman like myself could probably cast all day after those mongolian taimens or salmons in Scandinavia, Alaska or Patagonia.

With deep loading and a crisp recovery, this rod will surely turn some heads among the double handed fishing world in the future.

Tom Morgan 6'9" light 3wt.

Here is another Tom Morgan fiberglass 6'9' light 3wt. beauty. This is a fantastic little fly rod that has deeper flex and smooth hidden power. I'm looking forward to build the 7'3" version of this "Japan special" 3wt. as it fits my style of fishing and casting and the size of the streams I'm fishing very well. And I love deep flexing rods because they are more fun to cast and very delicate when striking the fish.

Heirloom grade fittings on this rod as well. The Bellinger upslide reel seat with stabilized maple burl wood is spectacular.  The Arcane agate nickel silver frame guide with Universal snake guides are elegant. Deep red silk wraps complement the reddish brown colored blank. Western cigar handle is very comfortable and one of my standard handles you'll see often. This rod will find its new home soon and his lucky owner.

I took the time for a small footage casting this rod so you can see how this thing performs. Not very good light conditions but take a look at that action. Thanks for looking!

Amber & Bronze

This is a first Epic 580 build out of the new series from Swift. 

These are, bar none, some of the best blanks ever to hit the fly fishing market. The new finish on them, the tapers, the ferrule system. Perfection.

This smooth loading eight foot five weight honey rod was appointed in a clean style, with minimalist wraps in clear silk tipped brown, to complement the bronze hardware. 

The rod features my Lemke flared style signature reel seat with gorgeous Oregon maple wood insert, dark bronze anodizing and complementary winding check, PacBay classic snake guides in titanium bronze coating and a beautiful, custom made bronze coated agate from Arcane Components.

Lastly, the rod deserved that special crafted leather case, hand made from exquisite italian leather, thats threated to repell water, so you can carry it on the river safe and in style.

One-of-its-kind, this Epic "Amber & Bronze" will pop on its own on the river.

Sage Mod

Not much more to say about the Mod 390. Here's one I finished recently. All black hardware. Clear wraps with black signature wraps and a beautiful NOS Struble gongalo alves wood insert. Overall a clean fly rod that casts and fishes very well.
