First spey

Challenged myself and accepted to build a first spey rod. I can't remember when was the last time I scratched my head before starting on a completely new project. I guess I'm on the right path. Now comes the hard part. Finishing this 15foot 10wt. monster. I'm very curious how much it will take to actually finish it. Stay close and thankx for looking!

Salsa 686

Finished another Epic salsa 686 rod. This rod is a similar build to this one. Clear and black accents really make for a beautiful and striking combination on this amazing blank. The slightly longer snub-nose handle is extremely comfortable and something that I would want on my personal rod. More Epic builds are coming and some other very interesting builds. Thanks for looking!

Swift Epic 580

Just finished this beautiful Epic 580 Amber rod. Simple color scheme with transparent wraps tipped in pale orange. I just love this new snub nose/modified full wells grip shape. It's really comfortable and feels great on a five weight rod. Not too thick nor thin and just feels right. The wood insert on this one is something special. It is locally harvested and turned by a knife craftsman and friend of mine. This particular piece of wood (Tisa wood) has some nice V-stripes as well as some longitudinal ones and the pale orange color is just gorgeous and matches the rod and the wraps. Up next is another 686 salsa. Thanks for looking!
