Challenged myself and accepted to build a first spey rod. I can't remember when was the last time I scratched my head before starting on a completely new project. I guess I'm on the right path. Now comes the hard part. Finishing this 15foot 10wt. monster. I'm very curious how much it will take to actually finish it. Stay close and thankx for looking!
Wow, that's enough cork for 4 regular rods? :)
ReplyDeleteI have no idea (yet) what makes a double hand rods look nice. But I'm sure you'll let us know!
Hi Jay, Yeah probably three-four rods.
ReplyDeleteI love how Kerry Burkheimer and Dave Lewis makes/made their spey rods.
So far I've learnt that a classic/classy style applies equally well on a salmon rod.
I pretty much wanted to make a classic looking Sage rod and had a lot of time to think about it too. The Bellinger spey seat is one of a kind. You can't beat a classic. This scheme reminds me of a split cane spey rod more or less but with modern materials.
I can't stand those outer space desings the big companies make nowadays!
